FoST Sweden joined Friends of the Freedom Theatre and JIPF (Jews for Israeli-Palestinian Peace) in a shared booth at the 2026 Gothenburg Book Fair. Hundreds of visitors had the opportunity to learn about Standing Together – the Jewish-Palestinian grassroots movement working for equality, peace, and an end to the occupation.

FoST Sweden was represented by Haroon Zaib and Paul Dakwar, together with Katarina Katz (representing both JIPF and FoST).
Over several days, we hosted conversations about imprisoned Palestinian voices, theatre activities in the Jenin refugee camp, and – together with Swedish Radio commentator Isabell Schierenbeck – Israel’s political future.
Several visitors told us that this was the first time they had ever heard of Standing Together, and they left the booth curious, hopeful, and eager to learn more. This is exactly the kind of quiet, person-to-person awareness-building that FoST wishes to create. This weekend showed how well it can work.
