Standing Together was founded in 2015. Today, it is the largest grassroots movement of its kind, uniting 5,300 Jewish and Palestinian citizens of Israel for equality and peace, and against the occupation of Palestinian territories.
After the Israel–Hamas war began, Standing Together has played a leading role in organizing demonstrations in Israel against the war in Gaza, calling for the release of hostages, and advocating for a ceasefire. They have also collected aid for communities affected by the October 7 attacks and created a hotline for Arab-Israelis, particularly university students, who were affected by anti-Palestinian sentiments. In March 2024, some activists from the group organized a 30-car convoy in an attempt to deliver humanitarian aid to the Kerem Shalom border crossing into the Gaza Strip. The Israeli police forced the convoy to turn back about three kilometers from the crossing.
Time Magazine listed Rula Daood and Alon-Lee Green among the 100 most influential leaders, spokespersons, and innovators in the world this year.
