Alon-Lee was arrested yesterday during a nonviolent emergency march to the Gaza border. We demanded that the government end its horric assault on Gaza, which became even more lethal over the past few days with an expanded military campaign, and sign a deal to end the war and release all hostages. Alon-Lee and other peaceful demonstrators are in jail, while right-wing extremist settlers are able to enter Gaza illegally, carry out attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank, and hold settlement conferences on the Gaza border with full impunity.
We call for an immediate release of Alon-Lee and all imprisoned peace activists, and an end to the horrendous war waged by a minority government intent on re-occupying and ethnically cleansing Gaza. Violence from the Israeli police will not silence the growing movement against this war of annihilation and its danger to Palestinians, Israeli hostages, and all who live in this land. We will continue fighting for an end to the war, an end to the occupation, and for peace, justice, safety and equality for all.
