Canada Friends of Standing Together has issued a call to the Canadian government for concrete measures that Canada can take to promote peace and justice in the region and to show that Canadian Palestinians, Israelis, Arabs, Jews, Muslims, Christians and allies can stand together on the basis of shared values.
The government is urged to work for a ceasefire, the release of hostages and prisoners on both sides, the admission of humanitarian aid into Gaza, an end to ethnic cleansing and settler violence, and for Canada to accept refugees from Gaza in the same way as it has done with Ukrainians, as well as for the government to work towards long-term peace.
