Ahead of Israel’s parliamentary election on October 27, Standing Together is working to increase voter turnout among Palestinian citizens of Israel. Palestinian journalist and organizer Bakr Jabr Zoubi shares his reflections on voters’ frustration, their hopes for change, and the campaign’s efforts to restore faith in the power of political participation.

For more than 15 years, I have written about the challenges facing Palestinian citizens of Israel. Growing up and living in Kafr Misr, a village near Nazareth, I know how deeply these challenges affect our everyday lives.
For Palestinian citizens of Israel, change is urgently needed. We want safety for our families, an end to organized crime and violence in our communities, equal rights, fair political representation, and a real voice in shaping our future. Our hopes are inseparable from those of Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza, as well as Jewish Israelis, with whom we share this land.
Yet many Palestinian citizens feel deeply disappointed by a political system that has repeatedly marginalized them. Some have lost faith in the possibility of meaningful change.
Standing Together’s Get-Out-The-Vote campaign aims to turn this frustration into action. Through conversations in Palestinian communities, we listen to people’s concerns, rebuild trust, and demonstrate why voting matters.
This grassroots campaign brings Palestinian and Jewish citizens together in the struggle for equality, dignity, safety, and peace. I have seen how it is restoring hope and strengthening people’s belief in the power of their voices.
With Election Day tomorrow, every effort counts. Your support can help us reach more voters and strengthen the movement for a different future.
